Digital Strategist - digital strategy/user experience design/service design - is required by highly successful and fast growing organisation.

Overall Purpose

The Digital Strategist's primary purpose is to ensure they design and build impactful, appropriate and purposeful digital experiences. They achieve this by understanding client objectives, challenges and audiences. With a curious mindset they identify meaningful insights and uncover opportunities - building the foundations for briefs, inspiration for creative ideas, requirements for technical solutions, and guiding decisions. With a passion for what good design can deliver, they bring others along with them to achieve buy-in for insight-led design up-front and then ongoing to optimise and improve.

They support the sales team by scoping, estimating and taking part in pitches. They work closely with the client services team to build strong client partnerships and ways of working; identifying opportunities for growth. They deliver discovery phases for digital and feed into those for brand. They define digital solutions and work collaboratively to explore ideas. They draw upon methods, tools and techniques to deliver hands-on across user experience design, product and service design and marketing; with a passion for what good design can deliver. They report to the Head of Digital Strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contributing to proposals and pitches
  • Delivering to budget and deadlines
  • Working at all levels, with authority and professionalism
  • Understanding our clients' world - objectives, challenges, audiences, sector and competitors
  • Delivering discovery phases for digital and feeding into those for brand
  • Delivering backlogs and roadmaps
  • Creating specifications to define solutions
  • Collaborating with designers and developers to explore ideas
  • Keeping up to date with design and digital innovation and inspiring others

  • Content and functionality audits
  • Google analytic audits and performance reports
  • Competitor audits and trend analysis
  • interviews, surveys, field studies
  • User research and testing
  • Designing and facilitating workshops
  • Making insights clear


  • User experience design methods including information architectures, user flows, design and functional specifications
  • Service design methods including journey mapping
  • SEO deliverables including keyword research and redirect strategies
  • Measurement plans, Google Analytics configuration and Google Data Dashboards
