Infrastructure Service Manager

10-11 month FTC/Hybrid working

Our client who are a global insurance organisation have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Service Manager to join on an initial FTC. The role will help provide cover whilst a colleague is on Maternity leave but there is scope to make a real difference as well as apply for other internal opportunities in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be the SME for all escalations, incidents and problems within the live operational environment.
  • Comfortable taking the lead on all operational service issues.
  • Comfortable highlighting impact and risk to the business and leading Service Improvement Programs.
  • Accountable for resolving impact and risk accordingly.
  • Quantify and develop Continual Service Improvement opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability of managing work in a time-pressured environment.
  • Drive the reduction of incidents through strong problem management capability

Skills required:

  • At least 3 years experience working in IT Service Management or Relationship Management strategically leading and transforming teams
  • Strong problem resolution mindset and demonstrable skills, in defining and owning problems leading to root cause analysis and feeding into Service Improvement Plans
  • Be ITIL accredited
  • Understand how to mitigate risk within IT
  • Hands on experience of Major Incident, Problem Management, Change Enablement.
  • Previous work experience within a regulated and audited environment
  • Be able to work in a fast moving environment with rapidly evolving targets and to prioritise work effectively
    • Be self-motivated, confident and decisive with a & can do attitude to meeting business needs
    • Possess solid influencing and communication skills and the ability to manage suppliers/stakeholders effectively
    • Be a good team player, working with IT and business professionals in an effective manner

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with varied ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Alemba, Remedy, or Chelwell.
  • Experience of DR, BCP, ITIL and SIAM procedures in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience of working in the financial services sector.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Exposure to CASM or VeriSM frameworks.
  • Good understanding of developments within ITSM space
