Hybrid - 2 days remote and 3 days onsite (London)
SC clearance is ideal
Day rate: £400 - £500 INSIDE IR35

The ideal candidate will support and provide advice to the organisations senior management team and its HR Team on the full of HR-type issues as well as be responsible for advising the agency on reorganising small-medium sized teams (5-50 staff) with minimal disruption to the staff or business operations.

The worker will be required to work at least 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remotely. Please note that this working pattern is subject to the organisations policy on working arrangements and it may be subject to changes

Qualifications Desirable -

  • Ideally Chartered MCIPD qualified or working towards achievement of Chartered MCIPD.

Experience Essential -

  • Strong experience in reorganising and restructuring (small-medium sized) teams (5-50 staff);
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of restructuring from design, staffing, legal implications and implementation;
  • Must be able to achieve buy-in of the staff and the organisation;
  • Must have excellent technical and interpersonal/people skills
  • Must operate at the highest levels of personal values (integrity, confidentiality, empathy).
  • At least five years' generalist HR experience (in a government department or agency would be an advantage) including HR policy formulation and wide experience of the practical application of employment law.).
  • Leadership experience in a broad-ranging HR role
  • Should have familiarity with financial services and also Civil Service type environments

Knowledge Essential -

  • Sound understanding of all aspects of HR covering recruitment; employee services (pay, terms and conditions etc); employee relations; and training and development;
  • Sound knowledge of employment law;
  • Good understanding of how HR contributes to the achievement of organisational objectives.

Skills Essential -

  • Excellent judgement, integrity and communication skills with the ability to relate well to staff at all levels including executive and non-executive members of the agency's board;
  • Excellent drafting skills with the ability to produce high quality communications for all HR-type purposes and for a wide range of audiences;
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuading and influencing skills based on logic and reason;
  • Proven record of strategic thinking to support the delivery of organisational objectives;
  • Evidence of strong delivery focus and achievement in previous roles;
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach in resolving HR issues;
  • Ability to support managers in improving performance and delivering objectives.

Leadership - Essential -

  • Giving purpose and direction and taking responsibility
  • Being able to provide sound leadership advice and mentor and develop the abilities of HR team staff
  • Able to demonstrate resilience and resourcefulness and the ability to establish credibility and win the confidence and respect of staff at all levels.
