Assistant Commercial Manager required to work for a government department. This will be a 6-month contract, paying up to £550 per day, inside IR35. Hybrid working, split: 2 days WFH, 3 days in the London office.

For this role you will need to be SC Cleared or eligible for clearance.

Job Summary
This role will focus on the delivery of procurement projects in line with our commercial strategy and pipeline and may also include supporting contract management activities to ensure our suppliers effectively deliver.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in high profile procurement projects which are key enablers to the Government's strategic priorities

Key Responsibilities
  • Key lead within a wider team on the delivery of high value, complex procurement
  • Leading on the delivery of key milestones on the procurement project plan through SQ, ITN, Negotiation and BAFO stages dependent of the procurement strategy adopted.
  • Drafting, reviewing and delivering key procurement/tender documents in collaboration with other commercial partners and business leads
  • Drafting, reviewing of Contract documents including T&Cs and Schedules
  • Co-ordinating key workshops, reviews, discussions with Operational and Project teams, as needed by the Procurement Team lead
  • Supporting tender/evaluation/award processes as per the Procurement Regulations 2015.
  • Where a CPN process is adopted as the procurement route, developing the negotiation strategy and negotiation documents and utilising lessons learnt from recent CPN procurements
  • Navigating internal and wider Governance processes to secure appropriate approvals
  • Gather lessons learned from the procurement and ensure it is documented to inform future projects and influence improvements in commercial processes, systems and skills.
  • Working as part of one team with the customer, project team and other partners
  • Maintain robust records to support the audit trail & compliance
  • Provide commercial advice to peers or senior colleagues
  • Must have Public Procurement knowledge and experience in a complex market and be able to work in Microsoft IT environment (producing spreadsheets/PowerPoint presentations).
  • Utilising the eSourcing Portal (Jaggaer) for management of the tender at all stages of the process, including setting up events on the system, managing clarification questions and preparing evaluation reports.
