Role: Terminology Specialist
Contract Length: 4 months - Possible extension.
Location: Hybrid - 1 day a month in office, Leeds, London, or Exeter. Pref Leeds.
Security Clearance: BPSS - Basic disclosure is required, if successful

This is an extremely Niche role.

This post supports the work of the Information Representations Services and specifically the terminology product areas.
Our terminology products provide a common language for the faithful representation of what health and social care professionals are observing, thinking and doing and enable this information to be shared across intelligent applications to support the care of individuals. SNOMED CT and dm+d are our core products.

The post holder will primarily:
work in one or more of our service areas to supervise, author and quality assure client clinical and pharmacy terminology content, maintaining and delivering SNOMED CT UK Edition, SNOMED Drug Extension, as well as derivative products, mappings and guidance;
use expert terminology knowledge and understanding of the care process to influence design decisions on any projects/programmes that require terminology expert guidance/advice, and/or
provide technical specialist expertise with the ability to analyse, manipulate and interpret information for data analysis and apply the results to provide solutions and create terminology modelling capability, and/or
ensure processes, systems and functions to package, build, test and deploy changes and updates are bounded as releases into the production environment to enable controlled and effective handover to service management and for distribution to the user community.

Essential skills required:
Experience as a terminologist
Pharmacist or Pharmacy technologist
