You will be working at our newest site on the Chichester Food Park based near to Chichester in beautiful West Sussex.
Our development kitchen is modern and well equipped, and our offices are bright and open plan maximising cross functional working and team camaraderie.

A day in the life of a Development Chef:
We make delicious salad meals, fruit pots, coleslaw, potato salad, bagged salads and leafy salad bowls across our 4 manufacturing sites. Our products are stocked by leading Retail supermarkets & popular restaurant chains, consumed by millions of customers in the UK. So, you may well have eaten something made by us!
Our Development Chefs keep up to date with the latest trends in the food industry and an eye on the next the next big thing, alongside developing and refining well-loved classic recipes and products that we produce.
Your role will be varied and one day you could be experimenting with different salad leaves and combinations and the next cooking a corporate lunch for our important clients.
You will use your knowledge of food trends to create and develop new salad meals (think of what you may buy at lunchtime in the supermarket), coleslaws, potato salads, fruit pots, bagged salad varieties and refine current recipes that will then go on to be displayed on supermarkets shelves or be used as ingredients for high street restaurant brands.
You will be working closely with teams in NPD, Category (shopper behaviours/trends), Sales and Process (The team who work out how to get your newly created product processed through our manufacturing facilities).
Other responsibilities include visiting our client's offices with your colleagues to present your concepts to them which can include cooking demonstrations and working in collaboration with the supermarkets to create products that suit the needs of their customers.
You will also enjoy going on "Food Safaris" where you will get to eat out at restaurants with your colleagues to keep up to date with what's happening in the industry.
We have several community initiatives which include Field to Fork - where we invite local school children in to understand the journey of their food and have a go at creating their own salad meals.

Role type: Permanent.
Hours: Office hours Monday - Friday (No weekends or unsociable hours!)
There are 3 other members of the Development Kitchen team. They are real foodies, friendly, collaborative and enjoy working together on projects.
Passionate about food with a keen interest in food trends and creating new dishes.
If you do have previous Development Chef experience in a food manufacturing environment experience this would be a bonus however we are also interested in speaking to fully trained and experienced Chefs with a desire to break into Food Manufacturing.

You'll have full support and on the job training from our Senior Development Chef Kristian to help you learn and develop your knowledge of developing products in a Food Manufacturing environment at Natures Way Foods.
