German and Japanese speaking Translator

In your role as a German and Japanese speaking translator, you will be translating a variety of creative texts and material from Japanese into German, with a main focus on videogame localisation. You will also be supporting various managers on a project basis and be working closely with other languages to keep the high level of quality across all languages.
This role requires a university-level study in Japanese with German native level and a keen interest in Japanese and German culture. As this is an in-house project based role in London, there will be benefits offered to the successful candidate to relocate from abroad. This is a one-year contract, but can be extended to a long -term position.
It is a great opportunity for a fluent German and Japanese speaking translator to gain experience within the company and develop your skill set.

* German to mother tongue standard
* Fluent in Japanese, written and spoken (ideally JLPT1 or equivalent)
* Fluent in English
* Previous experience in translation
* Creative writing style
* An interest in gaming
* Trados experience preferred
* Understanding of and exposure to Japanese and German culture
* Attention to details and have a great communication and organizational skills
* Strong IT skills in MS Office Packages
* Able to work in a fast paced environment with deadlines.
* Be a good team player.
