The Royal British Legion provides support to the armed forces community and provides a range of services to beneficiaries including holidays, care in residential or nursing care homes and adjustments in their home. It is important for us to ensure that these services are provided within the scope of health and safety, environmental and food safety legislative requirements and good practice.
We are looking for an SHE Advisor to support the business in delivering a safe and legally compliant service to beneficiaries while not compromising the safety of the staff or volunteers.
The post holder will work with managers and staff at all levels to identify activities and tasks undertaken to deliver services to enable the maintenance and implementation of an management systems; and provide advice on safety, health, food safety and environmental management and practice to influence their understanding and assessment of, the significance of those risks and the actions in place, or required, to manage compliance. The SHE Adviser reports into the Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), within the Legal Department.
You should have an appropriate qualification in health and safety, food safety and environmental management. You will have demonstrable experience in a Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) adviser role, including developing documentation and investigating compliance with these requirements.
This role includes travelling, a company car/car allowance will be provided. This role can be home based or office based dependent on location.
