Technical/Technology Lead

Company

A prestigious, trade and transaction reporting service. They are a financial organisation that make working with regulation easier for their clients. With over 100 clients, they are looking to expand their team to keep up with the demand, focusing on data accuracy.

Role

As a Technical Lead, you will be expected to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of the business, communicating with employees, stakeholders, and customers to ensure the company's technologies are used appropriately, and establishing company technology vision, strategies, and plans for growth

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Agile principles, processes, and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 10 years' experience working in information technology
  • Strong Cloud Computing experience, with AWS knowledge
  • Advanced Python/Javascript/Bash programming and Scripting
  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science or related subject
  • Ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language depending on the audience
  • Understanding of Systems architecture, design and development, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Software development life cycle best practices, Version Control tools (Git, Github, Gitlab, etc.), Serverless computing (AWS Lambda and API Gateway, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions, etc.), Containers and Cluster Managers (Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo, etc.), Configuration Management and Orchestration tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.), Databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, etc.) and Agile principles, processes and tools

Duties

  • Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
  • Maintain the organisation's information security standards and best practices
  • Build software development, quality assurance and data protection processes
  • Collaborate with departments as advisor of all technologies involved with the company
  • Supervise and improve the AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation, ensuring they are kept up to date
  • Develop technical aspects of the company's strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
  • Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
  • Maintain oversight of all IT projects, ensuring that commitments are properly planned, staffed, monitored, and reported, leading the IT team in effective execution
