Painter and Decorator - Swinderby, Lincolnshire
Due to continued organisational growth and development opportunities for our current staff, we are recruiting for a Painter and Decorator to join our Facilities Team, based at the beautiful Swinderby School located just outside Lincoln, and working on a range of stunning sites across the county.
About the job:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall decorating of the buildings both at this site and others across the county. Although you would be expected to commute into your base location at Swinderby, you would then collect one of our fleet vehicles for any off-site working.
Our sites are schools and residential homes for children and young adults with severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and challenging behaviours. The high standard of decoration of these properties is essential in providing a safe, supportive and homely environment allowing our pupils and residents to flourish in their surroundings.
What would I be doing?
Carry out decorating works to buildings / fittings and performing ancilliary tasks as required. Tasks are a range of scheduled and reactionary decorating tasks.
To comply with the current Health and Safety regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of as team, taking direction from the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
Exercise sensitivity to the needs of the pupils and residents, and consider their safety at all times.
What experience or qualifications would I need?
Previous trade experience is essential.
Applicants must be practically minded and flexible with their skills.
A basic level of IT literacy, such as: basic Word, Excel and Outlook.
