Previous experience of working within an RTA claims team or insurance claims department department with a specific specialism in dealing with Credit Care Hire Claims..
Experience of dealing with and running own credit hire case load of approximately 120 cases including:
Taking initial instructions and reviewing and vetting case merits;
Negotiating settlement of credit car hire claims;
Indepth understanding of court procedure
Experience of dealing with litigated claims to final hearing/trial
An indepth and up to date understanding of relevant credit hire case law and to be able to practically apply the same to individual circumstances of each case within case load
Ability to proactively manage and progress cases to final hearings or negotiated settlements
Advising clients and Credit Hire Organisations on their rights and merits of given case.
Experience of drafting claim forms, particulars of claim, replies to Defence, witness statements, preparing trial bundles and briefing counsel on credit hire cases and set out detailed arguments in each.
Ability to do all own typing at sufficient speed and deal with all case admin
Experience of running cases through a case management system.
General IT, telephone and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm, drive and determination to succeed.
To run a credit care hire recovery case load with associated other heads of loss where applicable such as personal injury, repair, storage, recovery and other heads of special damage;
To take on new instructions, investigate and assess liability and merits of a credit car hire claim following a road traffic accident;
Communicate with the various involved parties via written and verbal means;
To negotiating settlement of credit car hire claims on best possible terms and argue points in favour of client and credit hire organisation;
Deal with litigated claims to final hearing/trial;
To accurately and efficiently maintain a diary system to ensure all court deadlines are complied with;
To maintain an indepth and up to date understanding of relevant credit hire case law and to be able to practically apply the same to individual circumstances of each case within case load;
Proactively manage and progress cases to final hearings or negotiated settlements;
Advising clients and Credit Hire Organisations on their rights and merits of given case;
To draft Claim Forms, Particulars of Claim, Replies to Defence, witness statements, trial bundles and briefs to counsel on credit hire cases with sufficient attention to detail and legal argument;
Process cases through case management;
Answer telephone calls from clients and other parties and deal with queries that may arise in a professional, efficient and courteous manner;
Operate a high standard of client care and legal advice at all times;
To deal with all clients and sources in a polite and respectful manner;
To ensure the neat and efficient upkeep of case files;
To ensure the neat and efficient upkeep of filing system.;
To ensure all files are kept up to date and worked on in a timely manner;
Perform own typing and admin to suitably high standard;
Follow departmental standards and guidelines;
Follow supervisory instructions;
Achieve billing, settlement and other KPI's;
To undertake any training to assist in your personal development
To abide by all Health and Safety regulations;
Any other reasonable request made by Senior Management.
