We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to join our team in the Birmingham area.
Your focus will be on identifying apprenticeship vacancies with new and repeat businesses and providing them with suitable apprentices in your geographical region. Developing relationships with employers to provide a high-quality service and understand regional market insight to exceed their expectations, whilst driving the achievement of your key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
Increase the assignment of candidates within apprenticeship placements through effective sales techniques and by engaging and strengthening employer relationships to provide quality work placement and progression opportunities, which match the career aspirations of Babington's learners Achieve as a minimum, the monthly targets for apprenticeship placements Develop and maintain your area and individual sales plan. Work closely with internal sales support and marketing colleagues to develop campaigns and activity plans Attend appropriate networking and employer events to develop new opportunities. This may include an element of early morning, evening or weekend work Accurately completing own enrolments, including start paperwork, initial assessments and health & safety pre-vets Maintain existing business and maximise potential by carrying out regular client service calls and investigating opportunities during all contact Ensure all leads and referrals occurring from internal or external parties are followed up promptly to maximise opportunity Ensure regular contact with all allocated candidates irrespective of whether they are assigned to a particular vacancy Work with the Learning Support Advisors to fully screen candidates and assess their suitability against the clients' requirements and the person specification Collate, present and disseminate local labour market intelligence, management information and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) information to maximise opportunities and inform delivery plans
Role Requirements
Essential
Commercial Sales Qualification (e.g. C&G Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Sales, C&G Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Sales, Institute of Sales & Management (ISM) Level 2 or 3) Extensive Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) sales experience Experience in recruitment, marketing or sales in a dedicated geographical region Proven experience of delivering high level of service and satisfaction Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision Working experience of liaising with employers and external agencies Experience of managing databases / CRM systems for lead generation
