Homeless Shelter Night Staff (Ad Hoc)

A local authority in Worthing are recruiting for bank staff for a Night Shelter for the homeless, through the winter.
Bank staff are required to staff a night shelter for rough sleepers in times of severe cold weather with support from Council staff. The shelter is open to rough sleepers to access from 8.15pm - 9.30am. All who access will be known to services and information available. The role involves clearing space in the shelter, laying out sleeping bags etc. and provision of hot drinks / basic food stuff. There will be 2 staff per shift. Due to overlap with council staff, the majority of shifts will be 7.30pm - 7.30am.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have previous homelessness experience, but any relevant experience will be considered; e.g. . Outreach, supported accommodation, care work. As one person per shift needs to be First Aid trained, a qualification in this will be beneficial to your application.
This is a temporary contract running until the end of March 2019.
