Director of Fundraising

MediCinema has developed considerably in the past 3 years, from delivering 15,000 cinema experiences to patients and their families in 2014 to 27,300 in 2017, and currently runs 6 MediCinemas around the UK. We are now getting set to achieve our ambitious growth plan to add another 8 cinemas and triple the number of people we can reach each year by 2025.
With our activity growing and our 20th anniversary on the horizon at the end of 2019, we are now looking for an exceptional Director of Fundraising, to join the team at this exciting time and direct and deliver the charity's fundraising strategy and activity, transforming our income and enabling us to achieve our ambitious growth strategy.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced individual who has successfully held a senior post in fundraising or development, with a proven track record in major donor or corporate giving to make a real difference and mark on the future and impact of this amazing charity, as well as being a unique opportunity to further develop and hone their experience.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and responsible for two existing Senior Fundraising Officers (Trusts & Foundations, hospital partners; Corporate & major donor), the role will also work closely with the Head Office team (National Operations Manager, Communications & Marketing Manager and Executive Assistant) and cinema management team.
Purpose: To lead on the planning and delivery of MediCinema's income generation activities, building MediCinema's fundraising to over £1m a year sustainably as well as supporting capital appeals
The role will be required to:
Take the charity to the next level, delivering on its strategic requirement to build its annual fundraising sustainably to over £1m (excluding gifts in kind) and beyond
Provide strategic and tactical operational leadership of the fundraising activities of MediCinema in order to achieve the required income generation targets
Write and deliver the fundraising strategy for MediCinema, supported by a small team
Personally lead, build and deliver key partnerships in corporate and major donor fundraising
Review, build, develop and manage a robust and professional fundraising team
Terms: The role is offered at a competitive package for small organisations:
£48-60k p.a. commensurate with experience, possibility of flexible working for the right candidate
3% employer contribution to pension
27 days annual leave per year, in addition to bank holidays
Central London office, right by London Bridge station
