Job Title Operations Technician

Location Flintshire, North Wales

Salary £26,000

Hours 42 hour working week.

Perpetual Partnerships are working with a Waste to Energy client on their search for an Operations Technician to be part of our client's site in Flintshire

Job Summary

The Operations Technician will work on a rotating two shift pattern that includes day-work, with late and early starts, weekends and public/bank holidays, and provides shift-rota cover, including stand-by cover as required to assist with the continuous 24/7 operation of the facility.

Qualifications

*

GCSE level (Maths and English), NVQ equivalent, or more than 5 years of relevant industry experience.
*

Knowledge and experience gained through, shift working in a 24/7 continuous process industry, preferably in a waste incineration, waste industry, or power generation environment. (nice to have).
*

Understanding of waste regulations, duty of care, transfer notes, weighbridge calibration.
*

Knowledge and understanding of safe transport operations.
*

Mobile plant experience and licences for Front Loading Shovel, Fork Lift Truck, mechanical access equipment.
*

Competency operating a weighbridge software system.
*

IT literate and competent to operate computer software systems.
*

Valid UK driving licence.
*

Nice to have IOSH

Roles and Responsibilities;

*

Assists in ensuring that all waste and consumables deliveries, residues storage, management and removal operations, are conducted within prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental constraints and guidelines.
*

Assist with plant operations to enable the facility to operate within its Local Authority Project Agreement, Environmental Permit, Planning Conditions and complies with its duty of care responsibilities, whilst fulfilling its contractual and company targets for safety, waste inputs, vehicle turnaround times and residue outputs.
*

Ensures a high level of health and safety is maintained at all times by reporting any issues or incorrect procedures to the Supervisor, Shift Team Leader or Management team.
*

Close liaison with other operational and maintenance colleagues responsible for other elements of the site, so the facility can function as an integrated whole, and run at maximum levels of safety, availability and efficiency.
*

Ensure that the site traffic management plan is strictly adhered to and clearly communicated to all drivers and everyone else entering/leaving the facility.
*

Assist with the inspection of waste deliveries and the collection of waste samples for duty of care, environmental, regulatory and safety compliance requirements
*

Performs driver inductions for all new drivers and refreshers as and when required.
