Technical Consultant - SQL Server, SSIS

The Company:

A Microsoft Gold partner that hosts environments principally for emergency services and health organisations. Their solutions range from small-scale data marts to much larger and more complex solutions. These business intelligence solutions are accessed through a Web App and utilise a SQL Server data warehouse with typically anything up to 100 million records and 5-10 fact tables built using the client's data.

The Role:

* Developing and designing SQL 2016 data warehouses

* Supporting clients' data warehouses

* Managing the development of client Change Requests and their QA

* Development of test cases, code storage, documentation, processes and code

* Managing data and processes under GDPR and ISO27001

* Developing Cloud based environment

* Attain and maintain Microsoft SQL database exams eg (70-473/761/762)

* Write SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Transact SQL.

* Liaise with internal and external business analysts

* Support clients' delivery needs and capture the time for billing

* Share and support technical developments with clients and the internal consulting team

* As part of the wider technical delivery team, help to provide support cover for the hosting platform during UK working hours

* Document client requirements and communicate development options

Required Experience:

* Microsoft SQL Server Transact SQL/Stored Procedures in SQL Server (Apply online only)

* Designing and developing small/medium size data warehouse environments

* Building ETL solutions using SSIS. SSIS knowledge must include the ability to create scripted components in C# or VB where appropriate

* Relational database and data warehouse design, and performance tuning

* Be able to identify appropriate datasets to solve the business problem

* A mathematical/engineering/statistical background

* Be familiar with System and User Acceptance testing

* Show a driven attitude to documenting

Desirable:

* Working with datasets from health, emergency or local government sectors

* Statistical process improvement/Six Sigma/CPMI/Lean/Process Mapping

* SQL Server administration including creating databases and configuring security and logins

* Basic Windows Server including Active Directory, server installation and configuration

* Development of test data

* Oracle 9i or 10g

* Machine learning

The Technical Consultant will be dealing with clients at all levels of the business, some of which work in a different time zone from the UK.
