Ø To support the Service Users living at on-site through person-centred approaches to reach their full potential.
Ø To have a good understanding of the Service Users needs, especially their Autistic Spectrum Condition and how to meet those needs.
Ø To respond to each individual with foresight and flexibility, understanding their behaviour, that others may perceive as challenging.
Ø To enable Service Users to achieve independence as far as possible, in all areas of their life, by providing appropriate information, opportunity, advice and support.
Ø To support Service Users to communicate effectively, understanding each person's specific communication needs.
Ø To work within the context of company Policies and Procedures, guidelines and protocols.
Ø To maintain confidentiality at all times.
Ø To support the Service User in the management of their health and well-being, and to provide personal care as required.
The right candidate will:
Ø Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to promote the dignity and individuality of Service Users and encourage self-independence and choice.
Ø Demonstrate ability to relate professionally and respectfully to Service Users who have autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and complex needs.
Ø Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ø Demonstrate the level of maturity to undertake the responsibility of the post.
Ø Ability to work autonomously and productively as part of a team.
Ø Ability to work effectively within a staff team and under own initiative when required.
Ø Ability to act calmly and appropriately in a crisis.
Ø Ability to demonstrate reliability.
Ø Ability to work within a specific shift system.
Ø Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Ø Experience in working with adults who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders / Learning Disabilities.
Ø QCF Level 2/3 in Adult Health and Social Care or equivalent (NVQ).
Ø Full clean, driving license.
