What You'll do You're a Director of Engineering for DevOps passionate about establishing teams and team culture, the product, and the process to bring it to market. You're expert in building new software offerings with agility and urgency. Direct supervisor of the technical staff as well as managing a team of 130+ engineers/Managers. Responsible for ensuring that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution. Role and responsibilities * You'll contribute to road maps with capabilities and timelines, with a proven track of product development delivered with quality on time. * Align technology to business strategy, and dedicatedly drive a technical direction throughout the organization * Document and align with quality processes following a CI/CD delivery methodologies. * Interfacing the Tool vendors in evaluating the tools and recommendation of tools * Plan for tools releases with required feature sets * A recognized inspiring leader, with a strong ability to influence others, build consensus, lead teams, engage engineers, and drive towards business and technical decisions. * A leader with experience building highly available, horizontally scalable, secure cloud-based services using state of the art process and technology. * Guided product features based on changing market requirements * Owned the product schedule and feature requirements * Passionate about building an excellent software development process Whom You'll work with Cisco NeXT IOS-XR team is responsible for adding programmability & manageability functionality to support SDN and data analytics. Who You Are Minimum Qualification * 15+ years' proven experience in software engineering leadership roles * Strong engineering delivery and execution track record, with proven experience around design concepts, development, quality, integration, testing, etc * Ability to attract talent, encourage the organization, and develop the next generation of leaders * Ability to build trusting, significant relationships with peers and partners both internal and external to Cisco * Management experience with equivalent sized organizations (Fortune 500) is strongly preferred. * Built a team from scratch and led the team to a successful delivery * Deep understanding of Computer Science/Engineering fundamentals * Excellent knowledge of programming languages (one or more of): C, C++, Java, JavaScript, JUnit, Perl, Python, Shell * Familiarity with Unix/Linux and web-application development (HTML, AJAX etc.) Excellent track record in collaboration * Creative analytical skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills * Ability to manage geo distributed teams and work towards long-term goals Desired Skills * Knowledge of embedded developer workflows * Knowledge of automated test execution systems * Embedded networking make/build systems * Knowledge and experience implementing Continuous Delivery model * Experience with Continuous Integration, Build systems, and Source Code Control tools * Exposure to large scale software builds, integration, and test environments. * Experience in building cloud based application, familiar with containers and orchestration for geo redundancy * You're able to handle multiple tasks at once and work independently with minimal managerial mentorship. * Be open to continuous learning and committed to ongoing self-improvement. * Initiate and participate in interpersonal efforts to improve overall group productivity and test effectiveness.
