Reporting to the SVP of Revenue Cycle Operations, the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations ("VP RCO") is responsible for all accounts receivable functions and related operations. This includes charge capture, claims production, third party & Government AR collections, self-pay AR collections, denial management, bad debt accounts, forecasting and associated analyses. The VP AR is expected to demonstrate, through plans and actions, a consistent standard of excellence to which all departmental work is expected to conform. The VP RCO is also responsible for ensuring all department functions, policies and procedures are updated and maintained and aligned with best practices and objectives defined by Executive Leadership. As a revenue cycle leader, VP RCO is expected to provide leadership, strengthen collaboration, and uphold the Company's standard of excellence.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Direct the management team (and ultimately all employees involved in AR management) of all accounts receivable functions to include: internal operations, business partner relationships, self-pay, bad debt (vendors) and debt sale.. In conjunction with executive management and other department heads, continuously refine the revenue cycle to minimize denials and appeals while optimizing performance and net cash collections and reduce days in accounts receivable (A/R).. Continuously monitor established financial and operational benchmarks to identify and resolve variances and exceptions which may affect cash flow.. Strategic planning, monitoring and execution of metrics to ensure that revenue, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives throughout Revenue Cycle operations are achieved.. Oversee development and implementation of policies and standards for all tasks within areas of responsibility.. Monitor industry trends and ensure timely response to changes and mandates.. Develop strategies for achieving goals by:. o Demonstrating sound management around accounts receivable to exceed cash flow expectations and reduce adjudication timeframes;. o Ensure all procedures are captured and billed accurately in timely manner.. o Integrate best practice innovation to achieve the highest performing revenue cycle, determine root cause of any barriers, and define/implement solutions that will maximize results.. o Monitoring aged A/R reports to ensure each respective region/sites are operating according to expectations, responding accordingly;. o Monitoring denial trends to proactively identify and resolve issues that can be remedied by system, process, or philosophy modifications;. o Developing strategies around denial inventory management to sustain below specified thresholds;. o Assuring adequate relationships with payers to achieve desired results;. o Present facility and regional-specific updates monthly to executive leadership on the state of the accounts receivable for assigned areas of responsibility;. o Communicate closely with all Revenue Cycle teams to assure coordinated efforts and approaches to A/R follow-up and collections and to resolve intra-department problems;. o Direct and monitor an offshore staff to achieve desired results.. Work closely with leaders in the areas of Operations, Finance, Credentialing, Human Resources, Information Systems, Analytics, Contracting, and Compliance to achieve business objectives and implement organizational strategy.. Provides support to the Radnet executive leadership team with regard to goal setting, benchmarking, process development, etc. and keeps senior management abreast of both successes and problems as they occur.. Mentor and develop management personnel, including but not limited to: clear communication of goals and expectations; timely review of productivity and tracking to goals; honest and timely feedback on performance; and access to training programs required for success.. Proactively manage, analyze, present, recommend, execute, implement, and integrate all opportunities to optimize net revenue per visit.. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience. Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or similar field of study required, Master's degree preferred. Seven to ten years Accounts Receivable/Revenue Cycle Management (Healthcare) experience in large scale, multi-facility experience required. Seven to ten years Management/Supervisory experience required. Demonstrated experience and accomplishments within Revenue Cycle Management, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private pay;. Demonstrated experience in overseeing a 100+ employee team of revenue cycle staff or a similar processing organization; preferably in multiple locations;. Significant transformation and information technology experience in a high-volume processing environment..
