Responsible for the development and implementation of consistent company-wide sales directives, marketing initiatives, strategic positioning of hotels and all other sales /marketing business activities. This RVP of Sales directly supervises Regional Directors of Sales. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, executes and tracks performance of overall sales and marketing programs and processes for existing and new hotels. Works closely with VP of Sales, EVP, RVPs, and all sales teams to increase revenues and gain market share for all sales segments. Ensures that communication of strategies is consistent yet flexible to adapt to changing market conditions, and that plans for implementation are clear and include solid measurements and accountability. Promotes an environment that rapidly assimilates new information to improve business performance. Keeps abreast of the newest technologies, trends and innovations in the industry and sales and marketing fields. Visits properties as necessary for evaluation, troubleshooting, training and support. Ensures sales teams continually maintains database of prospective customers. Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies for all remodeled or rebranded properties. Assists with due diligence for any potential new build or new acquisition through market assessments. Facilitates sound decisions that balance business need for local customization versus the benefits of company-wide practices that leverage the company's scale and reinforce consistency across regions. Advises field team and properties of ways to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency as a result of structure, process or job redesign. Advises sales teams on all sales standards. Builds effective working relationships with internal (regional teams, corporate resources) and external groups (customers, partners). Develops franchise relationships as it relates to the Sales and Marketing Discipline and the continual partnership of designing / implementing key initiatives. Serves as representative of the company's leadership team to franchisor's sales and marketing teams. Directs the development of all sales collateral. Develops and maintains appropriate sales training / tactics manual. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Identifies, hires, retains and continually develops diverse high caliber sales and marketing talent that make a strong positive impact on the company. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE & CERTIFICATION Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 8-10 years of related experience is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Strong business acumen; this includes knowledge about how businesses work, business trends and the implications to their business, strong competitive knowledge, and how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace. Ability to apply analytical, strategic and tactical thinking to the planning process and have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with other operational departments, yielding desired results. Strong understanding of hotel management principles and practices. Strong sales skills with ability to develop, follow and modify sales strategy. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts. Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience, whether oral or written. Ability to succeed in fast-paced large, corporate environment with many cross functional partners. Ability to develop and evaluate alternative courses of action; make decisions based on correct assumptions concerning resources and guidelines; support decisions or Ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency. Ability to establish work standards and expectations for self and others. Appropriately assign/delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals. Keep goals and objective in sight at all times, monitor progress toward goals, and works to overcome barriers and obstacles. Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to develop short and long term plans and budgets for the marketing program and its activities, monitor progress and assure adherence and evaluate performance. Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
