Learn more by visiting General Summary With minimal direction, manage, train, evaluate and motivate inside sales staff, including managers management and sales/servicing personnel, to reach company goals. Directs all activities associated with developing and implementing small to medium group sales and client service strategy and planning. Supports assessment and implementation of client management technology. Ongoing responsibility to efficiently grow small and medium group business. Essential Functions Manages staff resources, strategy and goal planning for the Inside Sales Division. Oversees the implementation and measurement of inside sales and service strategies to achieve membership and revenue growth targets. Provides strategic and tactical guidance to the inside sales staff. Directs the activities associated with market development, setting targets and ensuring membership increases. Develop and manage the Inside Sales budget; monitor expenses to ensure costs are within budgeted levels. Leads the division's sales training efforts. Identifies training needs across all sales roles. Collaborates with business partners to develop and deliver defined training. Manages key national selling channel relationships. Monitors and manages the performance of direct reports. Conducts performance reviews and recommends salary increases. Reviews performance appraisals conducted by direct reports. Provides prompt and effective coaching. Participates in the hiring and interviewing process for open positions within the department to ensure that the most qualified candidates are selected. Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor's degree in Business Sales/Marketing or related field or equivalent experience Proven success in developing and executing inside sales strategy and meeting aggressive sales goals, typically demonstrated by 15+ years sales experience, preferably in a group insurance or healthcare environment Five years of proven success managing, developing and motivating sales managers and sales professionals Proven ability to build and lead highly effective sales teams Comprehensive knowledge of Inside Sales methodologies, practices and principles Proven ability to analyze the market using data, trends and information, and develop, implement, manage and measure effective sales and renewal strategies Strong written, oral and presentation skills Excellent analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail Financially savvy; understands, identifies and manages revenue growth drivers Technologically proficient Working Conditions / Physical Demands The working environment is generally favorable, lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. The above information in this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
