The Benefits Medical Design Strategist role is part of the U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team. The U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team is responsible for the strategic review, evaluation and implementation of changes to various benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, LTD), monitoring plan performance, regulations and marketplace trends, and taking an active part in the design and implementation of the firm's overall wellness initiatives. The Benefits Design Strategist is a key role on this team, performing these functions as it primarily relates to the Medical Plan. This role requires close partnership with the broader healthcare team, strategy team, wellness team, and consultants/vendors that support the benefits plans.. Principal Responsibilities include:. Design strategy for the Medical Plan by keeping abreast of marketplace developments, monitoring regulatory landscape, and analyzing plan usage.. Investigate ad hoc benefits offerings or enhancements to the Medical Plan benefits provisions based on (1) latest market trends and benchmarking information, (2) intelligence gathered from analyzed plan data, or (3) requests from other sources, such as senior management. As part of the analysis and decision-making, the Benefits Design Strategist will need to perform research (as necessary), engage in cost analysis, determine how success and ROI will be measured and prepare PowerPoint presentations for various audiences, including senior management. Lead implementation of any agreed upon benefit solutions, including partnering with broader internal and external stakeholders, as well as reviewing various participant facing communications. Manage vendors including request for proposal processes, implementations and ongoing operations/financials to improve customer experience, operational excellence and financial results. Work with the broader team on developing and implementing innovative ways to engage employees in their overall well-being. Qualifications and skills. Strong understanding of the healthcare marketplace, along with a demonstrated track record of deep and thoughtful analysis of the healthcare marketplace, in particular as it relates to large employer plans. Willingness and ability to innovate in order to drive fresh and/or unique approaches and solutions. Must have experience working in a strategic, analytical or metric driven position. Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive work environment, while producing a quality work product. Ability to multi-task, work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables. Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Minimum 5 years in corporate benefits, benefits consulting or health plan/health insurance field.
