IZEA is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with public company experience to join our growing team. The chosen executive will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects our company and will provide strategic financial input to senior management and IZEA's Board of Directors. While directly overseeing overall accounting and finance initiatives, a successful CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing initiatives to improve and maintain the financial health of our company.. Primary Responsibilities:. Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to the executive leadership team. Review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.. Assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.. Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company's plan for growth and expansion.. Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained. Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.. Hire, develop, and directly manage finance team members. Identify and implement new systems of record for finance and accounting matters (e.g. ERP, etc.). Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company. Coordinate and produce all tax documentation as required. Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package. Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions. Serve as a point of involvement on Investor Relations roadshows, conferences, and stock issuance matters. Skills and Qualifications:. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred). Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance and SEC reporting.. Public company fundraising experience (S-1, S-3, PIPE, etc.). Professional accounting designation (CPA). 10+ years experience in a senior financial managerial position (CFO preferred). Exceptional communication skills. Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence. Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues.. Additional Skill Sets We Value:. Marketing or advertising background. Experience as an accounting or finance professional inside of a SaaS-based company. Is a "digital native" in the workplace. Utilizes multiple social platforms in their personal life.
