Company Profile: Our Client designs and manufactures production assembly machinery for the Automotive industry.
Job Location: South West England
Job Position: Electrical Design Engineer - Manufacturing Equipment
Job Status: Permanent
Responsibilities: Electrical design of manufacturing equipment; including risk assessment, specification, quotation, hardware & software design
Software design: HMI, PLC & safety
Hardware design: schematic, panel layout, cable harnesses & parts lists
Supervision of contract design engineers.
Project planning & management.
Supplier Support, development and control.
Production Support / Problem Countermeasure.
CE marking of equipment.
Experience: Degree / HND in relevant engineering discipline
Some design experience in related industry
Design of automated manufacturing/special purpose equipment
Proficient in AutoCAD, preferably AutoCAD Electrical
Proficient in PLC programming, preferably Omron & Mitsubishi
Design of HMI screens, preferably Proface, Omron & Mitsubishi (not SCADA)
Specification & design of schematic circuits
BIW process knowledge and experience
Commissioning & maturation of manufacturing equipment
Report writing and presentation skills
Large and Small Project Control / Supervision
Machinery directive / machine building knowledge
CE marking & requirement knowledge
Design risk assessment capability
Strong communication skills at all levels
Demonstrable experience of problem solving & implementation of countermeasures
Demonstrable experience of successful project target completion
Flexible approach to work with a willingness to work weekends if required
