Treasury & CIO - Capital Management Controls - Control Manager, Vice President- Job Description Within JPM, the Treasury and Chief Investment Office (T/CIO) is responsible for driving firm-wide balance sheet strategy, including ensuring that the firm achieves its capital and liquidity targets and its desired interest rate exposure while optimally utilizing its balance sheet resources to generate shareholder value. Within T/CIO the Capital & Liquidity Management (CALM) group oversees the end-to-end Firm's capital and liquidity framework and the Firm's Recovery and Resolution planning and submission. The Capital Management team oversees the risk-weighted asset (RWA) and capital measurement processes across the firm, and helps ensure efficient and appropriate management of our capital. The team oversees and coordinates across established teams in Finance, Risk and Regulatory Policy. The team's scope includes policy interpretation, oversight of implementation changes, dialogue with regulators on RWA calculations and model changes, reporting and establishing RWA limits and managing the firm's capital stress testing processes. Its mandate includes determining the appropriate investment in people and technology to improve the accuracy and timeliness of RWA calculations as well as the implementation of new rules and guidelines as they are made public. * Overseeing the end-to-end risk-weighted asset (RWA) and capital measurement processes across the Firm * Ensuring efficient and appropriate management of the Firm's capital * Managing the Firmwide Capital Stress Testing process * Interfacing with Regulators on capital-related issues * Guiding Lines of Business (LOBs) and clients on efficient capital decisions The Liquidity Management team partners closely with other teams in T/CIO such as capital and funding teams as well as the LOB Treasury teams and Liquidity Risk Oversight. Its responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Developing, enhancing and overseeing implementation of the liquidity frameworks for internal stress as well as RLAP and RLEN. * Interpreting and overseeing implementation of US liquidity rules (US LCR, NSFR, STWF) and 5G reporting, * Monitoring and managing firm-wide and legal entity liquidity position within target buffers. * Aggregating and managing liquidity forecasting for firm-wide and legal entities * Liaising with US regulatory agencies on liquidity reviews, exams and regulatory meetings. Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment for the Capital & Liquidity Management organization. The Control Management team ensures there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with Capital & Liquidity management to promote early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. Control Management focuses on four areas: * Control design and expertise * Risks and controls identification/assessment * Control breaks and resolution * Control governance & reporting Role Responsibilities: * Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols * Review and analyze program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business-related programs and strategies * Provide leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), including control breaks and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk * Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions * Manage and motivate a team in executing to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk * Provide ongoing feedback and training and develop employees on risk concepts and the application to risk and control evaluation Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required * CCAR, Basel Regulatory Capital, Liquidity and Recovery & Resolution experience preferred * 8+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred, Big 4 experience is desirable * Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate a RCSA in conjunction with business partners * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) * Business knowledge - ability to understand the business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business * Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner * Networking - exceptional interpersonal skills; exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills * Work autonomously to affect change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment * Process analysis / design acumen - ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design * Problem solving / Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusions * Understanding root cause / identifying control breaks * Developing timely and sustainable solutions * Analyze metrics for emerging risk Implementation skills * Writing Action Plans, Procedures * Change Management Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output, influence stakeholders and justify decision making JPMorgan Chase is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer Disability/Veteran.
