Our Shropshire based client is an established Manufacturing business, looking to recruit a Mobile Fleet Technician to join their team. The purpose of this role will be to ensure all mobile fleet vehicles such as FLT's, Tractors, JCB's and Lorries are maintained, serviced and repaired in accordance with relevant manufacturer's standards.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

* Maintaining accurate records of all mobile plant assets

* Liaise with colleagues in the Operations team to arrange fleet service and maintenance

* Efficiently manage vehicle breakdowns and repairs to minimise disruption caused

* Investigate the cause of breakdowns and ensure recurrences are avoided where possible

* Support with maintaining the ongoing fleet service contracts

* Work towards achieving and exceeding relevant KPI's

* Carry out weekly meetings with Operations colleagues

* Collate and update data relating to the fleet

* Manage spares/parts stock levels

* Assist with Health & Safety investigations where required

* Ensure fleet and equipment complies with relevant legislation and manage any legal documentation required

* Monitor spend within the department and prepare cost reports

* Assess fleet vehicle suitability and make recommendations for improvements where appropriate

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience of FLT repairs and servicing, including diagnostics, welding, hydraulics and electronics

* The ability to understand and work from manuals as well as drawings

* Hands on experience of workshop tools and equipment

* A keen appreciation of Health & Safety within the workplace

The following skills would be desirable:

* Formal training on workshop procedures

* FLT license

* FLT SMR experience

* Experience of using IT packages including Excel, Word, Email

* NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
