Working within a small dedicated team we are looking for a talented Engineer with Production/Quality Engineering experience in a low volume, high mix electro/mechanical assembly environment. This is a broad role and the ideal candidate will be able to deal with the day to day problems encountered in production as well as taking a longer-term view providing strategic direction for continued improvement and growth of the companies' processes, procedures and quality performance.

Responsibilities

* Liaising closely between Production and Design Engineering to ensure the smooth transition of projects and product into production

* Creation of manufacturing bills of materials and detailed work instructions for internal or external build

* To introduce new quality initiatives to continuously improve quality and performance

* To assist Purchasing with cost down initiatives and alternative sources of supply

* Carry out regular quality audits both internally and externally at suppliers

* Maintain to companies ISO9001 accreditation

* Participate in shop floor activities

* Facilitate problem solving activities to identify the root cause and resolution of issues

* To Liaise with customers and suppliers on all issues regarding the quality of all goods and services

Key Requirements

* Minimum of HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent

* 5 years' experience as a production or quality engineer in an electro/mechanical assembly environment

* Experience in using Lean manufacturing tools and techniques

* Passionate about continuous improvement

* Good working knowledge of ISO9001 or other quality standards

* Experience of writing work instructions and supporting documentation

* Excellent communication skills

* A team player with the ability to influence and support other team members

* Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.

* To be pro-active and have the ability to foresee issues and areas that could benefit from improvement

Desirables

* Experience in a low volume high mix manufacturing

* Experience of working within a company during rapid expansion

* Knowledge of Secure Information Systems

Experience of common IT products and peripherals an advantage
