Your role will include the carrying out of dilapidation surveys (c25% of your time), condition reports (c25% of your time), maintenance management (c25% of your time), project management and specification writing plus other task (c25% of your time) for all types of non domestic buildings, primarily commercial offices and industrial units.
The work is varied as it will include a considerable number of projects such as renewals, upgrades, refurbishment and fit-out for new occupants.
As you would expect it is essential that you have a strong, all round services knowledge on both electrical and mechanical systems such as electrical distribution, VRF, VAV, chilled water systems and other types of air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems as well as controls, BMS and alarms (fire and security).
You will be working as part of a larger nationwide team so while you have the benefit of working within the local area you are also able to draw upon the experience and knowledge of others within the group.
Due to the nature of the work you will be covering a geographic region that is primarily East Anglia extending to the north where you may well be involved with the odd scheme in the Leicester area. Similarly, you may well be asked to get involved with projects which are further afield either working on your own or assisting colleagues depending upon the nature of the work.
It is also worth noting that while you will have a base office, you will also have control over your own diary giving you scope to arrange various surveys, meetings and writing up time to suit project deadlines and your own preferences rather than being directed like a pinball by a colleague.
The organisation has a strong reputation for helping their team develop their skills and working with them to develop their career plans while also supporting them in fulfilling their objectives - this is certainly not a post which could be considered a career siding!
In return for your expertise this dynamic employer is offering:
Salary from £40000 to £45000.
Enhanced pension contributions
Performance related bonus scheme (up to 7.5% of salary, has been awarded at 7.5% for the last 10 years now)
Private medical insurance
£4800 Car allowance
Life insurance and accident insurance
Professional membership fees
Option to purchase childcare vouchers and join the cycle to work scheme
Personal training budget.
When applying for the role it is important that you have previously worked within either a surveying practice as a M&E Engineer or within a building services consultancy and ideally you will also be degree/CIBSE qualified and have C&G qualifications. Being a registered Air Conditioning Inspector will be a distinct advantage.
