Description

Position Summary:

The Graphics Project Manager takes ownership of projects that involve design, development, and logistical organization through Trek Bicycles Creative Department. In this the Project Manager organizes projects, creates timelines, updates statuses, and helps in planning and communications. This person keeps multiple cross-functional teams on target, manages scope and delivers the project requirements on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning
    • Coordinates the yearly creative calendar
    • Works with the Product Development Project Managers and teams to coordinate new graphics for that next year's bikes
    • Develops a resource plan for all new graphics and color only change graphics, making sure to level load
    • Determines and documents delays in launching projects due to resources and other delays
    • Communicates those resource concerns to decision makers and gives recommendations.
  • Leads Projects
    • Ensures the on time delivery of projects, by verifying that team members are completing tasks on time and staying within the scope and parameters of the project.
    • Determines when design reviews should happen, assigns them as timeline tasks and follows up- confirming the customer of the product is completely satisfied.
    • Raises the red flag if the project is running behind and keeps the status up to date inside project management program.
    • Communicates Scope Creep concerns making sure management understands the implications to the delivery of the product.
  • Develops Teams
    • Frequently review teams' concerns and questions. Develops solutions as necessary.
    • Becomes a super user and helps with development of Trek's project management tool, Workfront. Helps train team members with Workfront as needed.
  • Develops Processes
    • Works with the Program Manager to develop processes for cross-functional
      project teams.
    • Helps team members understand the product development process.
    • Reviews process concerns with the Program Manager.
    • Analyzes lessons learned and makes updates to processes as needed.
    • Communicates process updates to appropriate team members.
    • Drives improvements in all areas.
  • Communicates
    • Excels in the communication of project progress and team development.
    • Leads best in class meetings
  • Technical Work
    • Updating our Project Management tool
    • Making sure our color data is up to date in our lifecycle tool, Enovia.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of one-two years of experience in resource management or managing of projects Experience leading small to mid-size cross-functional project teams and managing simultaneous projects.
  • Background in graphics development a plus
  • Experience communicating with all levels of a multi-tier organization, including
    upper-level management.
  • The ability to work independently
