JOIN US We are looking for a VP Business Development who will establish and maintain key strategic and commercial relationships on the West Coast of the US. The base location for this role can be flexible to suit our preferred candidate, or in our Washington DC office, with a requirement for regular US travel. Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer and providing an advisory service to the Executive Team, you will establish Faraday Grid's global brand and profile with industry in your designated markets. You will collaborate with other regional VP's to build credibility and authority for Faraday Grid with stakeholders as the leader in the "energy transition", "energy as a service", and the underpinning solution for the energy Trilemma. You will seek out opportunities for the company to add to public debate and advocate for effective policy and regulatory frameworks that enable Faraday Grid technologies in your markets. you'll make an impact by Leading the commercial development process with our lead utility and energy ecosystem partners and energy system operators; Developing a pipeline of additional commercial relationships; Managing the commercial relationships for generation assets, storage assets, capacity, EV, ancillaries & transmission & distribution partners; Collaborating with Commercial group to develop various energy as a service and energy aggregation growth strategies for each of the respective markets, from the negotiation of a term sheet to commercial agreements for Faraday Grid rollout; Developing a broad network of strategic partnerships with key industry bodies, distribution and transmission grid operators, business and trade bodies, energy consumer groups, and other related potential energy ecosystem partners; Keeping Faraday Grid current with all material issues facing the local energy markets and commercial customers, and informing R&D of incoming industry changes to ensure IP development and product development is timely; Analysing external data sources to identify, and assess impacts from electric market structural changes throughout the respective markets; Collaborating with senior management - regulatory, product, commercial, finance, operations and risk to develop and execute commercial products/strategies in the liquid trading window of disaggregated markets (EaaS, energy aggregation) and to construct performance incentives in regulated markets for our underpinning technology of the Faraday Grid; Working with Commercial group with respect to the development of Faraday Grid's intellectual property around the deployment of its energy services in the rapidly evolving balancing and ancillary services markets. you will thrive if you Have a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics; Can demonstrate significant experience in leadership roles, most likely you will currently be a Director/Head of Power Trading or Power Asset Development function; Have working knowledge of balancing markets, energy contracts and energy hedge products, with experience of working for a distribution network operator or energy trading company being an advantage; Love the energy, intensity and excitement of a fast-growing company in a sector undergoing significant transition; Demonstrate reliability, transparency, open-mindedness, aspiration and rigour; Are self-directed, proactive and a team player with a proven ability to work to plan; Have excellent people skills which enable you to easily engage with key stakeholder groups; Are an enquiring and analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize and conceptualize complex ideas.
