Job summary:
This Department Head position is responsible for the selling, planning and coordinating of all aspects of Golf Tournaments. This position operates primarily in an outward sales roe (80%) and also assists on event execution (20%)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops market segments and solicits new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Sells and markets to external markets that may encompass corporate events/meetings/trainings, charities, foundations, non-profits, others may include school athletic tournaments, and memorials.
  • Assists the golf operations team in executing golf tournaments through pre-planning and day-of meetings on a high level to ensure guest satisfaction and event success
  • Acts as an ambassador for the property, fostering relationships with individuals & corporations who book tournaments to maintain repeatable and predictable business while prospecting for new golf tournaments.
  • Heightens awareness externally within the community from the club to golf shows and other public events.
  • Responsible for being a positive role model in both social media formats and public forums by being active and showing consistent participation in all public facing opportunities
  • Manages event administration requirements and logistics by using CRM, contracts/confirmation agreements, communicating in advance to appropriate departments or outside vendors, following up to ensure corporate standards of quality and service are met
  • Follows up with event hosts to ensure satisfaction and maximize referrals
  • Maintains communication with management by participation in weekly sales meetings and providing weekly and monthly status reports of sales activity and other reports as requested by management

    Additional Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with the Food & Beverage teams as well as management team to coordinate and communicate upcoming events
  • Generates a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals which meet and exceed sales goals and budgets
  • Other duties may be assigned by management

    Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
  • College degree preferred or 3 years of related experience in sales preferably in golf/hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of how to use social media to drive sales is required: Including Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc…
  • Must have a positive, engaging, and team oriented view on the workplace.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM
  • Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required
  • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired
  • Valid driver's license required
