Assistant Professor English and Humanities/Speech Communication - Alfr

The English and Humanities Department at Alfred State College invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Speech Communication. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a 5-5 teaching load. The primary teaching responsibility will be instruction of the introductory public speaking class. Teaching online communication courses and upper-level communication courses may be required as well. Additional responsibilities will include curriculum and course development, student advisement, program and course assessment, committee service, and ongoing professional development through scholarly activities. The position begins fall 2019.
As a minimum, a Master's degree in Speech Communication at the time of appointment is required. A Ph.D. in Speech Communication at the time of appointment is preferred. The successful candidate will be dedicated to academic rigor and teaching excellence. The successful candidate must have a verifiable record of successful college-level teaching of online and seated speech communication courses. Experience with and education in Technical Communication would be considered a bonus.
