Reporting to the Vice President who oversees the HR Business Partner function for the HR department, this is a very visible position which offers excellent exposure within a global reinsurance/insurance company. Based in our Liberty Corner, NJ headquarters, this individual will provide support to our Reinsurance Segment globally (approximately 350 employees). This is an independent contributor role as it relates to providing support for our US Reinsurance offices, however this position will also oversee one HR Business Partner located in London who provides support to our European and Asia Pacific offices. This position requires a strategic and tactical hands on approach in supporting our Reinsurance Segment globally. This individual will also have involvement in corporate wide initiatives as needed. Core Responsibilities: * Partner with HR/Reinsurance leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy. * Provide day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation. * Execute on performance improvement plans, employee relations investigations, terminations, organization restructurings etc. * Facilitate global transfers or expat assignments by working with legal counsel, tax advisors, finalizing employment agreements, negotiating relocation packages, and facilitating move details. * Provide quarterly metrics or data analysis as needed to Reinsurance group as it relates to talent acquisition, turnover, etc. * Formulate partnerships across the Human Resources Department to facilitate the delivery of value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business values and objectives o Partner with our Payroll Team on employee actions as needed - transfers, compensation actions, separations etc. o Partner with our Talent Development team as needed on talent development, succession planning initiatives for our Reinsurance Segment. o Partner with our Talent Acquisition team on recruiting strategy for business areas, including identifying talent gaps, targeting recruiting needs appropriately, participating in interviewing efforts etc. * Lead and/or support HR deliverables to include performance management; annual compensation process, HRIS upgrades, training initiatives etc. * Incumbent should be analytical and technologically savvy, with strong experience in Microsoft Office and should have the ability to grasp new applications quickly. Experience with CompView, Qlikview, Workforce Now a plus. Strong experience with Excel desired. Knowledge, Skills and abilities: * Bachelor's degree required * Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements. * Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills * Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues. * Ability to effectively influence at a senior level. * Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. * Ability to set high personal goals and work independently with tight deadlines. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks. * Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues. * Ability to inspire confidence in Senior Management through timely, thorough and accurate delivery of information, and creative/strategic solutions that address business needs.
