You will be the business leader for The Athletic's podcast product. You will work closely with the senior management team to set forth and and execute upon the company's podcast strategy. Responsibilities
Create and manage The Athletic podcast budget Work with editorial team to launch and develop local and national podcasts Hire and manage producers and audio engineers Scout, evaluate, and recommend podcasts to acquire Facilitate communication with Product Marketing and Growth teams to drive engagement and growth through The Athletic Podcasts Foster learning & development program for The Athletic editorial talent to develop their on-air skills Greenlight show/series pitches and help reporters and producers create pilot episodes when appropriate Establish a culture of experimentation, lead evolution of show formats over time. Requirements
4+ years of digital media experience, sports experience a plus Experience in acquiring video and / or audio content Strong leadership, hiring, and prioritization skills Solid understanding of The Athletic's tone and voice The Company is backed by Founders Fund, Evolution Media, Courtside Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Bedrock Capital, Advancit Capital, Y Combinator, and other leading investors.
