Primary Purpose Lead the strategy function in partnering across the organization to bring process, structure, and data to bear against the organization's biggest and most complex operational challenges and opportunities. In doing so, drive sustainable, profitable growth by improving the fan experience and/or the organization's efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with departments to not only identify these opportunities but develop plans to take action against them, tools to monitor progress, and a process to continue tolearn and improve moving forward. Lead, coach and manage Strategy analysts and Fellows and partner with department leadership in building and maintaining a high-functioning strategy capability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Title and Definition BUSINESS PLANNING & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Strategy team (in partnership with department leadership in the Strategy & Analytics department), assessing and sequencing potential tasks and allocating resources across them.
  • Directly manage Strategy resources, providing them with coaching, feedback and development opportunities to help grow and effectively contribute to department goals and organizational strategic priorities.
  • Assist in the annual business planning process for the Strategy & Analytics department by partnering with Sr. leaders and department heads across the organization to identify growth or efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Develop recommendation regarding prioritization of opportunities, assessing both the resources required to create an impact and the benefit to the fan and/or to the organization
  • Partner with Sr. leaders and department heads to evaluate and prioritize opportunities and guide their annual business planning to achieve the organization's Strategic Opportunities. STRATEGIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Identify relevant best practices and innovative approaches from within and outside of the industry that could be used to accelerate progress against prioritized opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional resources in designing and implementing new approaches, tools, and strategies to take action on prioritized opportunities and present solutions to senior leadership
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability for cross-functional resources (through direct management or dotted line structure) to ensure they contribute effectively to the project's success and to help them develop professionally
  • Lead cross-functional resources in building tools and systems to monitor new approaches, tools, and strategies and measure their impact over time
  • Craft leadership and stakeholder engagement strategy to ensure key sr leaders, ownership, etc. are appropriately engaged at key points in the project design and implementation
  • Develop clear documentation and transition plans to embed capability for on-going use of new approaches, tools, and strategies within the department CORE PROCESSES CREATION & CODIFICATION
  • Continuously monitor the business and identify opportunities - both within and beyond the department - to drive greater organizational efficacy, efficiency, and stability through the establishment and clear documentation of core processes to guide high-impact,high-investment and/or regularly reoccurring decisions and activities
  • Identify and synthesize both internal and external best practices related to key decisions and activities to challenge status quo approach and bring innovative thinking to bear
  • Develop, implement and evaluate project management standards across the Strategy function to improve the consistency and documentation of projects that are undertaken. Create accountability for analysts and Fellows in project management.
  • Where relevant, design and implement training to orient team members to new processes and ensure consistent, high quality, efficient execution takes place
  • Craft a plan to monitor and refine processes on an on-going basis
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements Education & Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or Statistics or other relevant field is required, a Master's degree is strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in a strategy role within sports or management consulting, consumer product goods, or an innovations focused analytical role is required.
  • Experience within the sports/consumer packaged goods industry collaborating with internal sales, brand, and management teams is preferred.
  • Understanding of financial principles/techniques of financial analysis, including discounted cash flows and other valuation techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and deliver superior results. Experience collaborating with junior team members through leading or managing preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of Tableau, SQL and R is strongly preferred.
  • Must have a strong interest to learn and use new software which improves work efficiency and output. Job Requirements
