Senior Electronic Engineer

I am representing a large design, engineering/manufacturing organisation based on the outskirts of Southend and due to continued expansion, I have an opportunity for a Senior Electronics Engineer based at my client location in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
You will be required to provide technical direction and proactively lead a team of assigned engineers to manager new and existing projects in line with customer and company expectations.
Duties for the Senior Electronic Engineer will include:
-Project lead on a program-by-program basis (both R&D privately funded and customer driven) by providing technical and logistical direction to a team of assigned engineers, ensuring that all activities associated to the project life cycle including but not limited to conceptual design, drawings, BOM's, prototyping, verification, qualification, commissioning, documentation, customer support and post development tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively by the team within the agreed timelines.
-Generate detailed program plans in response to customer and project requirements and ensure that allocated resources and cost budgets are maintained and managed efficiently and within the agreed timelines.
-Lead by example and ensure that engineering practices are always carried out to the highest standards within your assigned project team and the engineering department.
-Provide a high level of customer service and to act as a customer interface between customers and internal departments as appropriate.
-Mentor and manage the project team and individual engineer's activities as assigned.
-Research and promote design improvements, cost reductions, new materials, components and design techniques.
Experience required for the Senior Electronic Engineer will include:
-Electronics Degree or higher
-Strong level of understanding in electronics circuits and switch mode power supply technologies
-Working in a Senior Electronic Engineering role for at least 2 years
-Evidence of successful project management
-Power supply design
-Research and development
-Analogue electronics, switch mode power supply technologies and/or related power electronics field such as motor, inverters, etc.
The hours are 39 per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm (30 minute lunch break) and Friday 8am to 1pm, and due to the location you will need to have your own transport.
