A great opportunity for an Electrical Shift Engineer has arisen for a multinational manufacturer based in Swadlincote. This is a great role for an Electrical Engineer with huge potential to grow with the international company.
As the 'Electrical Shift Engineer' you will be the foreman of the engineering team, reporting directly in to the Plant Director. You will play a key role in carrying out PPM's and responding to reactive maintenance across the large site.
The role will also include but will not be limited too;
•Seeking out and implementing improvements to reduce the level of breakdowns experienced, in line with the company's continuous improvement methodologies.
•Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on site.
•Planning and coordinating schedules of preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools and buildings.
•Study production and operations schedules and confer with other staff and with maintenance supervisors to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operation of site.
•Efficiency - each production line is to be evaluated regularly, identifying engineering that will increase overall efficiency, also to permit operators to use the equipment more effectively. Ensure engineering solutions are put in place to affect a permanent fix. Effectively communicate to the Operations Manager that the performance of the department is positively contributing to the business needs.
•Budgetary controls - Must be exacting with a plan in place to deliver year on year savings.
•Estimate costs of personnel, parts and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
•Delivery through machine minders improved engineering start-up/response times/PPM.
•Involvement in projects across site: installing new machinery, decreasing down time to assist with production improvements, projects and reconfigurations as required.
•Qualified to HND/ONC in Electrical Engineering
•Good PLC knowledge in programming, fault finding and diagnosis.
•18th / 17th edition wiring regulations
•Experience of pneumatics and hydraulics
•Electrical / Mechanical Apprenticeship
