Located in Suffolk, UK this is a fantastic opportunity for a where you will be responsible for developing highly reliable high-power 980-nm pump laser chip product of EDFA for the rapidly growing fields of optical fibre communication.
As the Principal Chip Design Engineer (980-nm pump chip) your will be responsible for the following:
Design of highly reliable high-power 980-nm pump laser chip (cooled/uncooled)
Analysis of 980-nm pump chip concepts through theoretical and/or computational models
Fabrication and detailed characterization of prototype chip
Design and qualification of the chip fabrication process
For this position it is essential that you have R&D experience in GaAs chip design & layout for 980-nm, and familiar with the FAB equipment processing.
It is critical that you have a solid understating of Physics of GaAs chip and Physics and Chemistry of material, with the capability of studying the new technology.
The following experience is advantageous:
Pump chip design of EDFA or fiber laser
Experience of GaAs chip design and simulation, such as 915nm/940nm/975nm laser
Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in optics, optical engineering, optoelectronics, microelectronics, physical electronics, semiconductor physics or related discipline.
Location: Suffolk, East Anglia, England
Salary: Upto £70,000 per annum
