It is key that a positive environment is created with encouraging techniques. The student has come from a background in which they have not been given the opportunity to fully discover their potential or been pushed to strive and have commonly been labelled as the 'naughty child'. This can be a very challenging time in the young person's life and can leave them unmotivated to improve.
The end goal for the school is to build the confidence, academic strength and social skills of each student and to eventually reintegrate back in to mainstream.
The successful candidate must have:
•The ability to build strong and lasting relationships.
•Experience working with and a keen understanding of SEMH (social, emotional and mental health).
•The ability and drive to lead sessions.
•A background in working with young people and secondary aged students
If you feel you have the skills to work with a challenging child in Year 6 and understand behaviour strategies, then please do get in touch. This role is to start in January 2019 and will run till July, with a view to being taken on in September 2019.
The school is easily accessible from the district line.
