Job Description
The Development Coordinator will serve as an office manager by managing the day to day operations and will actively coordinate, guide, and support the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities, and work conducted by the Senior Associate AD/Chief Development Officer, the Director of Development Administration and Finance and the Development Officers.

The Development Coordinator will manage "up" to support all colleagues with assignments through the performance of high-level tasks that help ensure the success of the fundraising efforts on behalf of Maryland's student-athletes and directs activities in support of the team's mission.

This includes, but is not limited to, managing direct mail efforts, coordinating outgoing telephone calls and maintaining call lists, managing the implementation of stewardship thank you programs and retention programs. This position will collaborate on special programming, annual giving programs, major gift initiatives, and budget management as well as tracking and producing written and data reports on major gift donors and prospects to assess progress against goals. S/he will prioritize customer service and will establish and cultivate working relationships to enhance the effectiveness of communication between the Development unit and internal and external constituents.

Manage and create premium seat contracts and major gift pledge agreements and reminders. Manage Building Partner surrender notification by reviewing donor records and provide appropriate documentation to donors. Manage and maintain office supplies and office files.

Prepare major gift proposals for development officers, and conduct research on donors/prospects in order to produce biographical reports for senior staff for meetings and events.

Assist with game-day hosting duties for AD/Terrapin Club suites for football and basketball, which would consist of managing the suites, engaging and stewarding high-level donors and being the liaison to dining services for the suite.

With a strong knowledge of Paciolan and Advance database systems and other technological resources, the Development Coordinator with create, compile, analyze and generate reports to support success of the development office as well as perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.

Experience:
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in administrative, support and office management environment.

Experience managing projects with minimal supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to set priorities, and handle multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while establishing and cultivating working relationships with internal and external customers in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.

Exercise good judgement while operating in a flexible and professional manner; able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and absolute confidentiality.

Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point preferred.

Strong knowledge and understanding of databases to include Paciolan and Advance database systems preferred; ability to manipulate Excel files to organize large numbers of records.

Possess excellent organizational, analytical and writing skills along with experience in scheduling and managing intern and student staff with performing multiple projects and tasks preferred.

Prior work experience or a customer service, marketing, development or collegiate athletics environment preferred.
