Our client is currently seeking a Data Business Engagement Manager for a diverse 6-month contract position inside IR35.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the contact/entry point for the Business and Senior stakeholders for all things Data (information, updates or escalations); triaging requests to the relevant area within the data team
  • Be immersed and involved in the Business' overall strategy and direction. Work with the Business to produce a Data roadmap for their area, which is regularly reviewed and updated
  • Have oversight and understanding of all delivery activity in your business areas, including all in-flight projects, workstreams and pre-project pipeline
  • Lead the pre-project activities within your business area(s); following the right governance processes with the Business and key Data stakeholders, and ensuring activity is handed over to Squads with a clear business case, funding and resource plan
  • Own the prioritisation of Data activity and demand within your business area, by working with the Business to regularly review in-flight/pipeline work to make sure resources are working on the right things at the right time
  • Create and implement the Business engagement strategy for the business area, ensuring the right meetings are booked with the right people, that regular updates are given to stakeholders and that activity is visible and understood by the relevant stakeholders
  • Represent the data team in regular and ad hoc meetings, such as Business Steering Meetings or working groups. This will involve coordinating updates from other data team resources such as Project Managers or Delivery Managers
  • Work with other Leads across the business area and Data team, to ensure consistency, visibility, and alignment across the team

Skills and experience:

  • Great relationship management, networking and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Proactive with strong organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple things concurrently
  • Experience of project life cycles and creating plans
  • Good understanding of data and how it can be used, including reporting tools
  • Some business analysis skills (desirable)

This is a Hybrid role which will require some flexibility.
