Data & GIS Officer for the Kerry/West Cork ACRES Cooperation Project
The ACRES Data & GIS Officer will support the rollout and implementation of the Cooperation approach of the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) in the designated West Cork and Kerry areas. Key duties of the officer will include, supporting the development of a project database for managing all data relating to the Kerry/West Cork ACRES Cooperation Project, supporting the Project Team in data collection, management and analysis activities, ensuring conformance with the contracting Authority's procedures, standards and guidelines; data design and management for ecological GIS mapping, monitoring, reporting, and tracking of required and implemented conservation actions, supporting the development of a GIS system for collation and management of land ownership, participant data and permissions information, suitable for integration with the Contracting Authority's property management systems.
Applicants must possess:
A relevant qualification (Please see the full details of qualifications required in the Job Description)
And
5 years' relevant post-graduate experience including environmental data management experience; Experience in ecological survey design and data analysis; Excellent IT skills with knowledge of software application development using GIS and relational databases;
The position is full time (37.5 hours per week) and will be based at the Kerry/West Cork SKDP ACRES Head Office at Old Barracks in Beaufort, Co Kerry with the possibility of hybrid working arrangements. The contract period will run for 5 years & may be extended annually there-after, subject to continuing funding.
The salary scale for the position will be €43,254 to €49,007 per annum with start point dependent upon qualifications & experience.
