Business Systems Database Developer – Permanent – Birmingham with hybrid working (up to 3 days remote)

We are recruiting for a Business Systems Database Developer to strengthen our client’s Business Systems team as they look to expand their data journey.

You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great technical and people skills. You will be working with their data landscape to help deliver data through an effective enterprise data model. This will involve determining data requirements, designing, building, and maintaining an effective data infrastructure.

What will the Business Systems Database Developer role involve?

Collaborating and coordinating with multiple cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data infrastructure.
Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
Outlining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, security, master and reference data across multiple solutions.
Collaborating on technological choices, tools and business processes used to ensure consistent data normalization across all units.
Provide support, where required including to refine and clarify requirements to all levels.
Document all processes keeping data dictionary and catalogues updated.
Domestic travel to attend meetings and support projects (typically less than 10% travel).
Qualifications / Experience:

2+ years working with Database development (SQL, NoSQL, Progress, MariaDB, MongoDB).
Excellent knowledge of relational database concepts and Data Warehousing Design Methodologies.
Proven experience being accountable for designing, building and productionising modern data solutions.
Excellent communication skills, at all levels and experience with technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in understanding, gathering, and analysing business requirements, with an analytical mind-set and a problem-solving approach.
Knowledge of modelling with data visualisation solutions (e.g. Microsoft Power BI).
Proven knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (preferably COINS, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
Able to prioritise time across multiple major projects particularly when working to deadlines.
Experience working in the House Building or Construction or Manufacturing industries.
