£30,000 - £35,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

IT Network Manager Role:

As IT Network Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the IT network across the school.

You will be an important member of the Facilities and IT Teams providing support to ensure that the School operates effectively for all staff, pupils, parents and visitors. You will be someone who is well-qualified and energetic with vision, purpose, warmth and humour, who works positively with colleagues.

You are somebody who wants to be involved in all areas of school life.

This is a critically important position helping to drive IT forward within the school.

An ability to think strategically (as well as operationally) and implement change is vital, as are exceptional communication skills, both on paper and in oral presentation.

Key Responsibilities as IT Network Manager include:

Ensuring the network is running to support the needs of the school
Maintenance of curriculum, admin and other servers to include upgrades
Daily checking of overnight backup and relevant routine procedures for safe storage of backup data
Daily checking of Parago, the helpdesk ticketing system
Lead and guide the IT Assistant and delegate where appropriate
Technical support, including guidance and training to teachers and other staff
Advise teachers and staff on the compatibility of software they may wish to use with the school’s operating systems
Routine planned preventative maintenance of IT equipment throughout the school
Operational matters with reprographic equipment and networked printers
Maintenance of all IT equipment throughout the school
Monitoring of virus software and usage of Internet to ensure safe practices
Compile and manage an annual IT budget for licence renewals, maintenance, repairs and a rolling replacement programme
Ordering of IT consumables as required to ensure minimum downtime
Obtain quotes for all IT hardware for approval by Bursar and ordering of goods using school’s purchasing procedures
Installation of IT equipment and cabling as required

Other Responsibilities:

The IT Network Manager supports the needs of the school, working closely with the Headmaster, Head of Pre-Prep, Bursar, Head of Computing, Pre-Prep ICT Co-ordinator,
Database Manager and Teachers, maintaining an efficient and effective network facility.


Term Time

Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 5.30 pm for 34 weeks (45hours per week, excluding one hour lunch break)

School Holiday Time

Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 3.30 pm for 18 weeks (30 hours per week, excluding one hour for lunch break)

Assistance will be required at specific weekend school events
