We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and install software solutions. Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, perform as part of an agile DevSecOps team. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.



Requirements



Demonstrated experience developing software using an Agile framework.



Demonstrated experience managing software version control and/or software source code base.



Demonstrated experience with software development on Linux and Windows Computer Operating Systems.



Demonstrated experience designing program interfaces and ensuring interoperability with other systems.



Demonstrated experience with software development tools and programming languages (JAVA,NET, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, REST APIs, OOP, MVC, and SQL).



Ability to perform all necessary aspects of the programming phase of software development including coding, testing, debugging and documenting using current guidelines and standards.



Ability to participate in the analysis and development of test plans. Tests assigned components and units, provides test results and recommends corrections.



Ability to identify and direct resolution of moderately complex database/software interface issues or other technical problems.



Familiarity with the principles, practices, and procedures used in DoD software development including Design, Development, Test and Evaluation, Lifecycle Support, and Configuration Management. Familiarity with software virtualization and containers (Virtual Box, Docker, Open Shift, Kubernetes).



Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Responsible for software development activities both individually and as a member of an agile team. Actively participate in program increment planning and related team activities.



Analyze and study complex system requirements, use design software tools, provide support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques with the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and will use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant, and reusable.



Provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process.



Promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers. Engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production bench.
