Role: Management Accountant

Reports to: Finance Controller

Member of: Finance

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00 (Flexible to support International Office)

Location: Northampton & Coventry (Ad-Hoc)

The Role:

You will provide first hand support in the creation of the financial business planning and Daily, Weekly and Monthly Operational Finance reporting, delivering concise data & supporting the management of funds and budgets for all programs assigned by the UK Operations Director.

You will have the opportunity to work with expert teams within the company and across the business as well as within your own functional area to deliver all financial aspects for both the UK & US businesses.

You will be involved in creating & supporting the financial business plan, working alongside the Leadership Team within the core operational structure.

Achieving all project gateway milestones is key to the successful delivery of all new products, so you will be involved in all program financial objectives to ensure these outcomes.

You will also provide content support to the different team budget reports, help the team to understand the financial data, and thereby assisting each team to achieve their own business goals.

You will look to create in depth financial models that help the teams make operational decisions.

You will work closely with the USA FP&A team to provide them with the information they need to carry out cash flow forecasting and other types of management information.

You will provide the UK business with the information for the weekly KPI figures and support in the monthly financial KPI meeting with management.

You will be involved in the month end process within finance and get involved in month end journals, balance sheet reconciliation and supplier reconciliations.

Business partnering with other areas of the business is essential to help them get the information they need to make strategic business decisions.

Specific Duties:

Budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly and year end accounts preparation.

Reporting findings and figures into the USA and working closely with the FP&A USA Analyst.

You will also be involved with costings, special pricing review and liaising with suppliers.

You will attend business performance meetings to review key KPI's and metrics so that your internal audience understands the financial implications of their actions.

Who are we looking for?

You will ideally be data driven, with a strong background in data analytics, experience in finance is also a major plus.

As one of our Team you will naturally have an understanding and appreciation for manufacturing and brand requirements.

We work in a fast-paced environment so the ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority is crucial.

You may need to travel to off-site supplier facilities, within the UK and throughout Europe, therefore a flexible approach to travel is required.

You may need to adapt your working hours to meet the requirements of the business and integrate with the USA.

You will have the determination to drive forward the business to ‘Best-in-Class’ performance standards in line with brand expectations and be a lateral thinker able to think outside of the box to make structured and objective decisions

You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent attention to detail

Requirements:

* Finance experience and understanding of finance terminology

* Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally from with the automotive industry

* Excellent proficiency in all MS packages inc. Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint & other finance data management and modelling tools.

* Full driving licence with ability to drive between the UK sites

The role is predominately based from the Daventry, Northamptonshire head-office facility, however would have travel to other Warwickshire and Oxfordshire offices.

Education, training and qualifications

Essential - Good general education, with a broad exposure to office procedures and software packages.
Desirable - AAT or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA.

Skills & knowledge

Essential - Used to working on your own initiative with the interpersonal skills to develop cross-functional relationships.
Microsoft Office skills, with at least Intermediate Excel and Word knowledge.
Use of basic accounting systems such as QuickBooks or Sage.
Desirable - Advanced Excel knowledge would be a distinct advantage.

Experience

Essential - Used to working in a small finance office and team environment where close relationships with colleagues are key.
Used to dealing with customers, suppliers and employees.
Desirable - Manufacturing business understanding, especially in the automotive sector.
