Job Title: IT Network Engineer

Location: Scunthorpe

Hourly Rate: £14.32 - £16.13

Hours: 37.5 - Monday to Friday

Length of the contract: 1 year

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an experienced IT Network Engineer to our Public Sector client based in Scunthorpe.

The IT Network Engineer will be part of a dynamic team who will be led by the IT Network Specialist Lead on the development and maintenance of the data networks. This role will involve designing and supporting the delivery of a range of projects, to ensure the provision of a quality service, whilst responding in a timely and effective manner to meet client's needs.

Main Duties:

To adhere to the department's management processes to ensure all infrastructure is updated in line with Cyber Security requirements.
To resolve complex network and application related issues with the use of network management tools.
To be able to monitor the security, service continuity and performance of the network and ensure the appropriate action is taken to maintain and optimise it.
To identify any network issues that may arise and take appropriate action.
To use judgement in complex service delivery situations weighing up competing priorities and risks.
To work in partnership with other departments to ensure the greatest benefit is gained through a joined-up approach to a range of initiatives, particularly business planning, service delivery, strategic development and network architecture design.
To understand customer requirements and assist with managing customer expectations to ensure that they are aligned with the business's capabilities and available resources.
To ensure a culture of respect and professionalism is upheld within the team.Role Criteria:

Relevant experience within an IT/Communications environment
Experience configuring a range of Cisco products in connection with the wired and wireless networks.
Experience in supporting server software and hardware.
Project management skills.
Experience working within an IP Telephony environment.
Effective team player with interpersonal skills.
Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision.
Experience of security concepts and configuration e.g., Firewalls and Intrusion Detection.
Specialist knowledge in network design, configuration and management.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure.
