About Our Client
Our client has a diagnosis of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. This is a progressive illness which causes muscle fatigue of the entire body. Because of this, he uses a powered wheelchair to get around. Although he requires physical assistance, he is able to feed himself, use his mobile phone and computer, and also carry small items. Our client wants to be as independent as possible, so has chosen Southampton University because it is a few hours away from his home in Twickenham. This is our client s return to University, Therefore, he is looking for a PA to help with personal care, academic support and everyday life.
As written by him
- "I have chosen to study Marketing as it combines my love of stats and creativity. Cooking is one of my hobbies and I will do this as much as possible."
- "Boccia is also one of my hobbies and I compete in the sport at a high level. I train at least once a week with league meetings throughout the year. On a few weekends, I also attend competitions. I hope to make the most of many social opportunities at university, such as attending society s and going out to restaurants, parks, pubs e.g. I enjoy going out and socialising, whether that be participating in my Boccia, going for meals or other general out and about activities, so I am looking for a PA who is not only prepared to, but looking forward to, supporting me with the social aspect of student life!"
