Full-Time
War Child is renowned in the sector for its innovative Fundraising strategies and campaigns. Their 25-year association with music is the bedrock of their heritage, but they have expanded and built on this over the years into a range of diverse and exciting partnerships with corporates, celebrities and high net worth donors. They also have developed an industry-leading programme of fundraising activity in the gaming industry, winning the Institute of Fundraising Innovation award in 2017. In recent years they have also added a successful individual giving programme and are continuing to build this for the long-term.

Over the past few years they've grown very quickly and the Director of Fundraising will be key to ensuring they build on this success, continue to innovate and lead an incredible team of people to new heights. The role includes responsibility for the highest level of relationships with their ambassadors and major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners and leads on a number of teams which together account for the second largest budget group within War Child UK. The work of the Fundraising department impacts on all other departments at War Child, relying on their collaboration to succeed and being essential to the success of every area of War Child UK overall.

We're looking for a high energy, inspiring senior fundraiser to lead a brilliant, successful team. You'll fly the flag for some of the sector's most innovative fundraising, lead on the management of some very high profile celebrity supporters and be willing to get in the mosh pit now and again. Undoubtedly one of the most exciting roles we've worked in 2018.

What you'll need:

Demonstrable track record of fundraising success, with proven ability in fundraising strategy development and implementation
Minimum of ten years' fundraising experience, at least five of which should have been in a senior leadership role
Experience of delivering inspirational leadership to high-calibre fundraising teams
First-rate relationship management skills and interpersonal skills - hanging out with and mobilising the support of celebrity ambassadors and major donors is a core part of the role
Willingness to work some irregular hours - you'll be attending music events and other out-of-hours functions fairly regularly

If you have the skills and experience required and share War Child's values and believe that children's lives should not be torn apart by war, we want to hear from you.
