Clinical Assistant Professor in Counseling Psychology, Non-Tenure Track

Applied Psychology

New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development invites applications for two non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor positions in Counseling Psychology to begin in September 2019. The appointed faculty members will be part of the Department of Applied Psychology. We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.

Position Description: Steinhardt seeks candidates who can teach and provide clinical supervision for students in the Counseling M.A. program and the APA-approved Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program, as well as assume administrative responsibilities in the Counseling Psychology program's training clinic. One of the two positions would serve in a leadership role in the administration of the Ph.D. Counseling Psychology program and clinical training of program students.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include masters and doctoral level classes. Clinical supervision will include, but is not limited to, evidence-based (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT) supervision of doctoral students conducting individual therapy. Administrative responsibilities include working with the training clinic Director to provide administrative assistance. One of the two positions would serve in a leadership role and coordinate clinical training, as well as ensure clinical training quality, in the doctoral program clinic.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Counseling, School, or Clinical Psychology, as well as a completed internship, from an APA-accredited program. To be considered for the leadership role, candidates must be a licensed psychologist in NY. A position at the mid-level Clinical Assistant or above may be considered with commensurate experience.

Application Instructions: Please apply online with a letter of application, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, statement of clinical experience/theoretical orientation/supervisory experience (please include specific experience in evidence-based treatments and use of structured clinical interviews), diversity statement (describing how you address diversity and inclusion in the scope of your teaching and broader work), and the names and contact information for three referees to upload confidential letters.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. For best consideration, materials should be submitted no later than January 15, 2019. Additional information about the positions may be obtained from A. Jordan Wright, search committee chair, .
